Stage 8 Carmarthen to St David's Head

Grannies and their friends were welcome to join Beryl, especially on the circular walks.  Julia was delighted to collect any donations to the Granny Trek fund for Children's Hospice South West.

The final stage. Beryl set out from Carmarthen on Sunday, the 17th July, having enjoyed a circular walk on Saturday the 16th July led by David Bush (01267 230994) with a large crowd of local people.

The motorhome was at the home of friends Diana and Geoff Morriss near Carmarthen for 5 nights 13, 14th 15th and 17th July.  The team then moved on to the home of John and Susan Pile near Clarbeston Road for 3 nights.

Four days' walking (the Sunday being accompanied by Diana) brought Beryl to Haverford West, where the final circular walk took place near Milford Haven on Thursday, 21st July, led by Sam Jones (01646 693359).  Sam proved to be an excellent support for Granny Trek, raising more than £100 on the walk along the Pembrokeshire coast path, as well as almost £1,000 in sponsorship.

Then it was on for the final two days, reaching St David's Head at 3 o'clock on Saturday, 23rd July.

Sincere thanks to David Bush for his help with this final stage of the route, despite his opinion that Granny Beryl must be mad!

The team say a heartfelt thank you to all our overnight hosts for their support.
