Stage 3 Bedford to Stratford upon Avon

Grannies and their friends were welcome to join Beryl, especially on the circular walks.  Julia was delighted to collect any donations to the Granny Trek fund for Children's Hospice South West.

On Wednesday Beryl began the two day walk to Towcester, breaking this stage overnight at Newport Pagnell.  She was joined for a day by friends John and Doreen Pay - a great support on a long and difficult day.

On Friday the 17th June the Towcester circular walk was arranged by Colin Hull (01327 322337), Sports Development Officer of South Northants Council, starting at 10am at the Waitrose Store in Richmond Road.  Beryl's daughter Sally and grandchildren Charlotte, Susie and Jamie, as well as friends Jill and Ron Clark, joined the walk.

Beryl's friend and neighbour Edith Zobel joined the Granny Trek team at Towcester for three days, walking to Stratford upon Avon, arriving on Monday, the 20th June.  They also had the company of Beryl's eldest son Terry for the Sunday.   During this time the team  moved house to Anita's Caravan Park at Mollington where they stayed three nights (17th 18th and 19th) as guests of Mr and Mrs Jefferies. They moved again on the evening of the 20th to Riverside Caravan Park, Stratford-upon-Avon.

The team say a heartfelt thank you to all our overnight hosts for their support.
