And still the fund grows!![]() The fund continues to grow. Last Friday the Burtle Bingo Evening was a great success, raising £130. It was lovely to see the familiar faces from last winter. A huge thank you to all of them for their continued support. On Saturday I attended a Knitting Day at Nailsea, run by Diane Bennett. In my ‘normal’ life I wrestle with a PassapElectronic knitting machine and spasmodically produce jumpers and cardigans. The pressures of the Granny Trek have meant this has all taken a back seat for twelve months, so it was good to get together with fellow hobbyists. Diane kindly allowed me a few minutes to tell the ladies of my adventures and subsequently there was a collection of £90 – wonderful. Another delightful surprise was the arrival of £120 from Chelston Motorhomes which they’d collected at their Open Weekend. Rudi and Fritz are putting weight back on after their long, hot walk. They’re enjoying having a regular lifestyle again, though they miss all the attention and fussing. They’ll have a lot of spoiling during the coming week, as Tony and I are off to Pembrokeshire for a week and our friends, Jill and Ron, will be looking after them. “Why don’t you go for longer?” they woof! |
