Reward Granny at the Giants Gate I’d decided to give Rudi and Fritz a rest. After the struggle of the day before, Fritz was still tired, and the threat of more difficult stiles dissuaded me from taking Rudi. Both dogs are being incredibly good and brave. They have very different personalities – Rudi being rather excitable and noisy occasionally, when anything’s going on – and Fritz the quiet sturdy little soldier. Both of them score 100% for loyalty and are excellent companions for a lonely long distance walker. From tomorrow I intend getting back into the routine of walking one a day and will have Rudi with me as I walk from Tewkesbury to Welland. Today there was a mini Granny Trek with a group of Tewkesbury Walkers kindly led by Margaret Jones. It’s beautiful countryside here, where we’ve just dipped into Gloucestershire and it was relaxing to chat with the local people and not have to find my own way |
