Firm Friends!![]() It’s been a very busy week. Julia and I have been out most mornings visiting factories in Bridgwater. We are amazed at the number of thriving businesses in this industrious little town and the generosity of so many is heart warming. My poor feet get quite sore traipsing around in “ordinary” shoes and I’m thinking of dressing the part and wearing my walking boots. The third Granny Trek bingo evening in Burtle had a remarkable attendance and the village hall came alive with laughter and chat, in between the serious business of checking off the numbers. Ron and Barbara had been given a handsome collection of prizes, both for the bingo and the raffle, and their efforts to date have raised over £400 - brilliant! On Wednesday morning, the Granny Trek team will make their first public appearance at a U3A coffee morning. This group are busy raising enthusiasm and sponsorship for Julia’s planned walk on 18th April, so we feel we must make an effort to impress. Rudi and Fritz suffered the supreme sacrifice of having a bath this afternoon. They really do hate it, but surely it’s preferable to the cold hosepipe in the garden! Julia, Fritz and Rudi are fast becoming firm friends (see picture). |
