In 1995 Beryl and Tony Griffiths raised over £34,000 towards the building of Little Bridge House.  They backpacked 1300 miles of footpaths from John o' Groats to Land's End (The JOGLE), alone and unsupported, in the hottest summer since records began, celebrating Tony's new status as an old-age pensioner.

Ever since their epic walk, Tony has bragged: "Ah, but you were only 55!"  In 2005, Beryl will be 65 and with the building of the second hospice feels a compulsion to silence Tony, whilst raising a significant sum of money for Children's Hospice South West.  She plans to walk across country, from Lowestoft in Suffolk to St David's Head in Pembrokeshire, taking her two dogs, Rudi and Fritz, for company, including many circular walks en route to which sponsored grannies will be invited.  Beryl will walk ten miles a day for sixty days and has set a target of £100 raised for every mile - a massive £60,000!!

We are constantly pressed to exercise to stay fit to live longer.  What a hollow message this must be for families needing the care of the Children's Hospice.  If you are moved to help Beryl achieve her ambitious goal, go to "the team" page.
